In other words, in my opinion, the best way to catch a bass is to understand the bass and then employ your techniques and tactics accordingly.
When determining the best way to catch a bass, keep these tips in mind:
- Bass Have Sensitive Noses – The best way to catch a bass is to make sure that your hands are free of unnatural scents. This can be accomplished by using odor neutralizing soap, spray scents, or simply by rubbing your hands in a handful of grass before baiting up. The point is that any unnatural scents on your hands will transfer to your lure, and cost you bites. You want to make sure that your hands are free of unnatural scents when you're trying to catch bass.
- When You're Fishing – The best way to catch bass is to be on the water when the bass are the most active. This is determined by paying attention to the weather and moon, and planning your fishing trips accordingly. The weather and moon have as much to do with catching bass as the bait or lure you choose to use. Learn the simple ways these two forces of Mother Nature affect fishing and you'll catch more bass, it's as simple as that.
- Realism Is A Key Factor – Whatever type of bait or lure you choose to use, realism is the key. The best way to catch bass is to use fishing lures that are as realistic as possible. That is, they look as much like natural forage as possible.
The best way to catch bass is to educate yourself as to what bass want and need. Then get out on the water and begin to implement this information. No matter what bass fishing technique you use, these tips will help you catch more bass. In many ways bass fishing is just like life, the simplest things are many times the most effective.
